DAY ONE: GOD POSITIONS US

GOD POSITIONS US -"Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! Song of Solomon 1: 2 READING: Song of Solomon Book. Special attention to S of S 8: 13 & 14 and chapter 2: 8-14 The last written words the King speaks to his Bride are: "O you who dwell in the garden, with companions listening for your voice; let me hear it." Song of Solomon 8: 13 These are curious words. Think! They are newlyweds. The King finds the bride In the garden, but with her companions. What is the bride doing? Telling her companions the wonder of her new found love. The King, on the other hand seems to wait on the sidelines: "Let me hear it!" It appears that even in the days of King Solomon, there is a social media. Curiosity led me on. Back a few chapters the Beloved is speaking to his adoring bride: "Let me hear your voice. For your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely." Song of Solomon 2: 14 Aha! Intimacy. Face to face. They are together in a hidden location: "...in the crannies of the cliffs." Song of Solomon 2: 14 It is a tight fit. Barely fit enough for two. No place for the social crowd here. In this secret place of intimacy, the lovers feed one another. The bride is positioned by his side. She gives and receives. She soaks in his Presence. She is full of the Beloved. ---She rests in the loving arms of "Him." He too receives from his adoring bride. It seems He needs her as much as she needs him. She is his garden. She is his delight. (Song of Solomon 5: 1) How do we find this "cleft of the rock?" ---Our hidden place of intimacy? God, positions us. Before that can happen, we must learn to respond to the sound of his voice: "Let me hear it." Song of Solomon 8: 13 The wise maiden responds quickly. She turns her back to the social seekers and runs to the sound of his voice. She realizes her neglect of him and searches for "He, Whom her soul loves." The bride cries aloud: "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth!" Song of Solomon 1: 2 Knowing He sees her, the bride exclaims in understanding, "Make haste, my beloved." Song of Solomon 8: 14 ASK: What can I do today that allows God to position me hidden in the secret place? Journal.
